IMPACT OF DAYLIGHT ON USER PERCEPTION I N RESIDENCES
Aim Of The Experiment
To analyze how people’s perception of space changes when the spaces impart different emotions.

Participants

Participants for the experiment are chosen from academic and professional fields of architecture and design like architecture students, architects, knitwear designers, public space design students, product design, engineering, journalists, etc. to obtain a variety of results.

The ages, sex, or their place of belonging is not relevant to the study.
Procedure

The psychological emotions and perceptions of light and colors are grouped by the similar meaning and qualities they have.

These groups of words are given to the participants in the form of documents.

Participants are required to imagine themselves in a space with exhibits these qualities or impart the emotions.

Participants further describe the hypothetical space according to their perception. The spaces are described in terms of the space, volume, area, height, form, and intensity of light.

The same method is repeated for the other groups as well.
Observations
It is observed that even though the participants were from different fields and backgrounds have used similar words and phrases to define a space that exhibits certain emotions and feelings in them.
The data is compiled in a matrix and it is observed that the commonalities are observed and noted down. (Table 1)
Result
It is found out that spaces that exhibit certain emotions have a character and are perceived in a similar fashion
